BOTOX® Cosmetic

  • .5-1.5 Hour Procedure
  • Back to Work: Immediately

We give them all the affectionate names we can come up with—laugh lines, smile lines, crow’s feet—but in reality, they’re still wrinkles. Quick, easy BOTOX Cosmetic injections in Denver and Golden, Colorado, at Rejuvenate! help women and men soften these first signs of aging without the need for downtime.

These kinds of facial lines are referred to as “dynamic wrinkles” because they are caused by the action of your facial muscles. It seems almost unfair; the more animated and expressive you are—the more you smile, laugh, frown in concentration, and raise your eyebrows in surprise—the deeper your dynamic wrinkles become. But if you live in or near Denver, Colorado, BOTOX treatments at Rejuvenate! can smooth away those lines and make you look younger and more carefree.

How Does BOTOX Work?

BOTOX Cosmetic is an FDA-approved treatment consisting of a safe, purified form of botulinum toxin. BOTOX and its more recent relative Dysport® are products called neurotoxins or neuromodulators because they temporarily block the nerve impulses that cause facial muscles to contract and eventually form wrinkles. When injected into specific facial muscles, BOTOX causes the associated wrinkles to gradually smooth away.

Am I a Good BOTOX Candidate?

We perform BOTOX treatments for women and men who want to reduce or prevent dynamic wrinkles. Commonly treated areas include:

  • Crow’s feet around the outer corners of the eyes
  • Frown lines that run vertically between the brows
  • Horizontal forehead lines

If you suffer from excessive perspiration, which is often due to a medical condition called hyperhidrosis, BOTOX at our Denver med spa can help as well. These injections disable the nerves that stimulate the sweat glands to reduce or eliminate sweating for several months after treatment. In fact, BOTOX is FDA approved to treat underarm perspiration when topical treatments aren’t enough to keep your skin dry. On our Rejuvenate site, we discuss other concerns that can be improved by BOTOX.

What Are BOTOX Treatments Like?

Although BOTOX injections are often called “lunchtime” procedures because they are simple and require no downtime, the clinicians at Rejuvenate! want to take the time to understand your goals and expectations by starting with a cosmetic consultation. While most patients consider these treatments quite tolerable from a pain perspective, some do request a topical numbing agent, so we would ask you to arrive earlier than your appointment in order for the numbing agent to take effect. In addition, patients are asked to arrive 10 minutes prior to their procedure so that the necessary forms can be completed if you are a new patient or updated if you are an existing patient.

What Is BOTOX Recovery Like?

BOTOX is injected using a tiny needle directly into the problem areas of your face. Once the injections are complete, you’ll be able to go back to your normal activities right away. It is advised to minimize any exercise immediately following any injection to minimize bruising.

When Will I See My BOTOX Results?

You’ll feel excited to look in the mirror each morning for the next few days as you see your wrinkles fading and a more youthful, energized-looking you starts to appear.

How Long Do BOTOX Results Last?

Results of the treatment last a few months, with many patients finding the results from their follow-up injections lasting even longer.

What Are the Risks & Side Effects of BOTOX?

When you choose a qualified injector, risks of BOTOX treatments are minimal. Drooping eyebrows or eyelids, or a sagging forehead indicate poor placement of BOTOX. It can take up to 3 months to see the poor results reverse. The most common side effects include headache, nausea, flu-like symptoms, and eyelid droop. These conditions usually are temporary. A few patients experience bruising and swelling that resolves itself within a few days. Some people note temporary facial pain and muscle weakness.
