Rhinoplasty Before & After Case 572

This was a 16 year-old female who disliked her somewhat curved nose (partially resulting from mild blunt trauma in the past), and wished to  have a somewhat "cuter" nose to be in better proportion with her other facial features (including a slightly "weak" chin).  She also had an element of nasal septal deviation.

I recommended to the patient and her parents that she was fully developed enough to undergo formal  nasal surgery.  For the septal deviation an SMR (partial resection) was advised, and then a moderately aggressive dorsal resection and pyramid resetting was performed.  This was done as under general anesthesia as an overnight procedure (for nasal packing), but the patient otherwise recovered quickly and was very pleased with her more balanced new nose.
