Breast Implant Removal (Explant) Before & After Case 11228

This is a 40 year old, 5'5", 115 pound woman who previously underwent breast augmentation with 255cc gel implants and a breast lift (mastopexy). She decided she no longer wanted the breast implants. At the Center for Cosmetic Surgery, Dr. Vath is supportive of a woman's decision to have breast implants removed and does his best to inform his patients as to the appearance of their breasts after explantation. In some cases, a breast lift after implant removal is helpful in achieving a better shape. This patient had already undergone a breast lift. Therefore, implant removal was performed without further skin removal. Although she has an expected deflation of the upper pole after implant removal, her breasts maintained an attractive shape and she was very happy.
