This 42 year old woman who had had several children was having trouble losing weight post-pregnancy, and was concerned about the fullness in her upper mid-abdominal area, as well as the "hanging effect" above her waistline. She currently weighed approximately 175 pounds (standing approximately 5'5").I advised her that she was an excellent candidate for a formal abdomioplasty, which was performed in a surgical center. Approximately 2000 gm (4.5 pounds) of fatty tissue was removed from the lower abdomen, and the (native) umbilicus was recreated in a much more aesthetically pleasing fashion.
