The Palomar LUX 1540 laser is a revolutionary noninvasive laser therapy we offer in Denver, Colorado, to dramatically improve skin texture and pigmentation, including the treatment of fine lines and wrinkles, acne scars and surgical scars, and brown spots without significant downtime. The Palomar LUX 1540 is similar to the Fraxel laser except that we are able to offer our fractional laser treatments at a significantly reduced price because there are no consumable costs that we have to pass on to our patients!
Clinical studies suggest that on average, the most effective treatment regimen is 3 to 5 sessions, spaced 2 to 4 weeks apart. You may start to see results after the very first treatment. After your final treatment
Palomar LUX 1540 laser treatment is performed using only topical anesthesia in most cases. If your skin is more sensitive, we will ensure that you are made comfortable. The topical anesthetic is applied one hour prior to treatment. The procedure takes approximately 30-40 minutes for a full face. We then recommend
After the treatment, you will experience a mild sunburn sensation for about an hour and then minimal discomfort. The skin will have a pinkish tone for 5 to 7 days. This is a normal sign that the skin is deeply healing. Swelling is common and may last for 2 to 5 days. Flaking and bronzing, which are part of the normal process of skin repair, may also occur. Some patients are able to return to routine activities the same day. Others require a little more time, depending on their skin condition and treatment. It is important to apply an SPF 30 sunscreen daily during the healing phase and for several months after to protect the new skin.
Over the following weeks and months, the body repairs the deeper dermal tissues that have been affected by the Palomar LUX 1540 treatment, producing even longer-lasting beneficial changes.
I have had Fraxel at your office.
Am I a candidate for this or does fraxel eliminate that possibility?
You state it is less expensive. What is the cost.
What medication is used for comfort. I have used the topical and would like something more effective.
Is there weeping and scabbing?
How effective is this on lip lines, décolletage and neck?
Hi there! You would certainly be a candidate for the 1540 after having had fractional treatments. The 1540 is $650 per treatment. If you purchase a series of 3, you get 15% off and 5 or more is 20% off. Most people need at least 3 treatments for a good correction. This is less invasive than a fractional treatment and is very well tolerated with a topical. No weeping or scabbing, but you will experience moderate to significant swelling for 2-5 days post treatment. This treatment can be performed on the decolletage and neck as well. We encourage you to come in for a consultation to discuss your questions in depth and to see if you are a good candidate.
Hello, could this be used to treat Keratosis Pilaris on the arms? What would the cost be per treatment? Thank you
No, for KP you are going to want exfoliation. A series of chemical peels is your best bet. Having one every 4-6 weeks is recommended.
